TRAINING PROGRAMS
Puppy Training in Wilmington, NC - Start Right Instead of Fixing It Later
Build the Right Foundation from the Start
Are you looking to give your new puppy a strong foundation in obedience and environmental exposure? Our three-week Puppy Program is built for exactly that. Our trainers develop essential obedience skills, proper socialization and incremental exposure to the world, so your puppy grows into a well-behaved, well-adjusted adult dog rather than a project you have to undo at eighteen months.
From basic commands to leash work and everything in between, your puppy receives personalised attention and training tailored to who they actually are. Invest in your puppy's future, the habits built between four and twelve months are the ones that stick.
Who It Is For
Puppies between four and twelve months old. Old enough to learn structure, young enough that the foundation is still being poured.
What Your Puppy Learns
Name recognition, marker training and an early, enthusiastic recall
Sit, down, place and teaching how to have an off switch
Loose-leash walking
Crate training and potty training
Handling and grooming tolerance, so vet visits are not a wrestling match
Structured socialization with dogs and with new people
Incremental environmental exposure, loud noises, unstable surfaces, water, stairs, crowds, busy stores
Why Exposure Has to Be Incremental
Socialization is not a numbers game. Dragging a puppy through a crowded farmers market to "get them used to it" produces fearful dogs, not confident ones. We build exposure in steps the individual puppy can handle, so every new experience lands as neutral or positive. A confident puppy is a puppy that has been set up to succeed, over and over, in slightly harder conditions each time.
The Puppy Problems We Hear About Most
Almost every enquiry we get about a puppy is one of these six. None of them are unusual, and none of them are permanent.
- Biting hands, ankles and children, normal puppy behavior that needs a boundary, not punishment or panic
- Pulling on the leash from the first walk, because nobody taught the alternative before the habit set
- Not coming when called once something more interesting exists
- Jumping on every guest, which is adorable at 15 lbs and a problem at 70
- House training that has stalled, usually because of freedom given too early
- Crying, chewing and destruction when left alone
The reason we push owners toward the four-to-twelve-month window is simple economics of habit. Preventing a behavior takes a fraction of the work of undoing one that has been rehearsed for a year.

FAQ
01 How old should my puppy be to start?
Four months is our starting point for the board & train format. If your puppy is younger, we can begin with private lessons and move into the program when they are ready.
02 Is my puppy too young to be away from home?
Your puppy lives in a home environment with their trainer, with daily routine, rest, play and structure.
03 Will three weeks be enough?
Three weeks builds a genuine foundation. Puppies keep growing and testing, which is exactly why the follow-on lessons are included and why many owners choose the Advanced Puppy Pack instead.
04 Does my puppy need to be fully vaccinated?
Bring current vaccination records when you book. We will confirm exactly what is needed for your puppy's age at the evaluation.
05 Will my puppy still be a puppy when they come home?
Yes, and that is the point. We are not trying to produce a solemn little robot. We are producing a puppy who can be silly and still listen when it matters.
06 Will you house train my puppy?
House training and crate routines are part of the program. Consistency at home afterwards is what keeps it, which is covered in the follow-on lessons.
