Summit Kennels offers a private lesson bundle designed to help you and your dog reach new heights in the comfort of your own home. The bundle includes six lessons with one of our elite trainers, plus our training equipment bundle with everything you need for a successful training journey.
This is the program for the owner who wants to do the work themselves. You are on the leash from lesson one, learning the mechanics, the timing and the standard directly, in the house, the yard, the neighbourhood, and desired locations you want to take your dog.
Why In-Home Training Works
Our in-home lesson package is designed around one simple goal: teach you how to teach your dog. Rather than simply training your dog for you, we work with you and your dog together, teaching you how to communicate clearly, establish expectations, reinforce the right behaviors, and effectively work through challenges as they arise.
Your dog’s progression depends heavily on your consistency and commitment between lessons. The more time you put into training and the more consistent you are with your expectations, the faster your dog will progress and the stronger those behaviors will become. Our job is to give you the knowledge, timing, tools, and structure to continue developing your dog long after each lesson. Your job is to put those tools into practice.
And you’re never on your own. Summit Kennels will always be available for feedback, questions, troubleshooting, and support between lessons as you continue working with your dog.

FAQ
01 How long is each lesson and how often do we meet?
Sessions typically run about an hour to an hour and a half, and most owners space them a week to two weeks apart so there is time to do the homework. The pace is yours, we would rather you practise properly between lessons than rush through six of them.
02 Do you come to my house?
Yes. Lessons start in your home and neighbourhood, and as the lessons progress are moved to more stimulating locations. We cover Wilmington, Hampstead, Surf City, Holly Ridge, Rocky Point, Castle Hayne, and Leland for private lessons .
03 Can private lessons fix reactivity or aggression?
Mild reactivity, often yes, if you are consistent. Serious aggression or a bite history generally needs the board & train format, because the hardest repetitions should happen with a professional on the leash rather than with you. We will tell you honestly which category your dog is in.
04 What if I need more than six lessons?
Additional lessons are $125 each. If you expect to want ongoing support, Summit Pack Lifetime Training at $2,500 covers unlimited follow-on lessons for the life of your dog.
05 Does my whole family need to be there?
Ideally yes, at least for some of the sessions. A dog that has one set of rules with you and none with everyone else in the house can confuse the dog.
06 What equipment do I need to buy?
None. The training equipment bundle, is included in the $1,600.
